Wam Bam Amsterdam

🌐Live from the coffee shop.🌐

Well after that mad frisk I needed a quick coffee break. I’ve just been to De Wallen, The Red Light District.

The Red Light District is the place to see the oldest profession in the world. With many narrow streets, zig zagging De Wallen, one of them the famous ‘Zeedijk,’ which was once one of the most dangerous streets in Amsterdam back in the day because it was the main place where travellers & sailors came together looking for all kinds of amusement which often always ended in violence.

Nowadays though, the shady bars & violent street fights have been replaced by typical Dutch pubs offering a great day out that’ll most definitely end in an even better night out if you’re lucky;)

Are you lucky?

In De Wallen, The Red Light District has many secrets, but if you look & listen you’ll see & hear them all.

Obviously I had a great time in this part of the city. The ladies with their sexy seductive dancing. Momma always said I’d be a heartbreaker but wow, I had know idea! I swear they loved me! & no it wasn’t because I had a big bulge in my left pocket;) That’s my wallet!πŸ˜€

No nude pics for all you erotica fans. Sorry, but this is wordpress not panorama & I didn’t want to get chased out of town by a gang of pumped up pimps because I would of retaliated. Anyway, I had to get out of there as fast as I could because just like back home, the ladies would all start fighting with each other in the end,πŸ˜€ so I made my way to this fantastic coffee shop for a drink & some super herbs to chill out & contemplate my next move.

I was thinking maybe the sex museum might be interesting since we’re on that note, but now I’ve just changed my mind & opted for the marijuana museum instead.

I’ll see you soon……….

Now then, that was 😎. Fascinating to say the least, I already knew most of the info available & I must admit I was expecting a bit more from it.

Inside the museum is nothing more than pictures & sometimes indirect info that makes you think, ‘eh…whats this all about?’ That’s what I thought anyway, so a little bit gutted I moved on to scout out some more sights that Amsterdam has on offer.

Sights like this,

Amsterdam has been great so far. I’ve almost smashed it. Explore & conquer is the name of the game & I now feel like Christopher Columbus in the Bermuda Triangle. I haven’t got a clue where the f**k I am! Even my inner compass has malfunctioned.

Seriously though, Amsterdam is like a maze but like any maze it’s easily sussed when you’ve been around it once.

But…..

There’s so much to see & do here that navigating it once isn’t enough & I guarantee you’ll want to keep going & going & going until who knows whats might happen?

I loved this guy to Death,

I had a good chat with him & my mate was great. His job is to stand there all day, everyday making mad noises & smoking a splif. What a crazy job to have! Funny though.

After coming to a conclusion on what might happen, I just wandered in wanderlust to here, there & everywhere until the Magna Plaza popped up out of nowhere.

The Magna Plaza is a magnificent building with a lot of history. Built in 1895-99, formerly the old main post office. In Neo Gothic & Neo Renaissance style it is part of the top 100 Dutch heritage sites. With an outstanding main hall inside that is a sight for sore eyes. Now a shopping centre with many unique little shops on offer. If it’s quirky souvenirs you’re looking for then you might just find them in the Magna Plaza.

But what’s Amsterdam with out the Dam? Why not book a boat cruise down the many canals & see the city from & different view. In every street there is a boat offering a mini cruise down the canals that’ll rock your world as you take in the many sight The Dam has to offer. Most cruises are an hour long & you’re guaranteed to see Amsterdam in a whole different perspective if you opt in for this luxury.

It’s been a crazy day here in the Dam, everybody loved Amsterdam & I love it! I love the Dutch, I love Holland, I love you, I love everyone & everything but most if all I love this!

‘Wam Bam Amsterdam.’ Thank you very much!

Amsterdam Centraal is in sight,

Join me next time in Utrecht!

Take care.

&………….

Live the high life Travellers!😝

  1. Such great photos – thank you for the insight. I would love to go! What really caught my eye was the sign for C&A. C&A! Still going?!. That was a real 80s blast from the past for me. Commonly known as “Coats n Ats”.
