After the buzz of Barcelona it was high time that I found myself a beach. 1st to chill, then to indulge in some crazy watersport activities. Give me a jet ski & I’m in my element. So there I was stepping off the train in Tarragona. I wandered around, checking Tarragona out for a bit. But decided to jump in a taxi & head to Tarragona’s, Cap de Salou.
Salou is a resort town along Spain’s NorthEastern Costa Daurada in the Tarragona Province. With beaches ranging from small coves to busy main strips. Popular for all kinds of water sports, sunset views & fantastic coastal paths.
With 4 separate beaches all in close proximity of each other, & some little coves all on a long stretch of coast with a few twists & turns, this sounded like the place for me. In the area I was, you had 3 beaches that had great watersport activities on offer.
Platges del Minicipi de Salou.
1st you have Platja de Llevant,
2nd is Platja de Capellans,
3rd is Platja de Llarga,
Thats the main 3 beaches where I spent most of my time for 7 days. The other beach is Platja de Llenguadet,
There’s also some great spots to chill & catch some rays for the day dotted all around the area.
With some nice places to dine & have a nice cool drink as you take in the beauty of the beach,
Most of my nights where by the beach in a bar drinking San Miguel or some crazy looking cocktail & I’d spend a day at one beach, a day at the other & would basically flit all over on a jetski, banana boat, surf-board or in the clouds on a glider parachute, connected to a speed boat. I was living the dream my friends, living the dream!
Obviously its a resort area, so the architecture is all the same. If you’ve seen one, then you’ve seen them all. Here’s one,
Now you’ve seen them all 😜
Salou has everything you want & expect from a resort & is a great part of Spain to visit.
The waterfalls were a fantastic sight at night,
But I was there for the watersports & beach life so here’s a few more pics.
Tarragona’s Salou was sweet & I had a fantastic time. Getting my fill of all the great watersports & superb beach life, but after 7 days it was time to move on & complete the final part of my journey in Spain. So I booked a bus to my next destination.
Join me next time when I step off that bus for 2 days in the magnificent city, that is Valencia!
Thanks for reading &……..
Take care Travellers. Viva Espana! 😜
