Holaaaaaa π
Did I ‘Boss it in Barcelonaaaa’!
I was here, there & everywhere!
Sorry I may have got a bit carried away with my title there. Bouncing off the buzz of it….!
Seriously though, Barcelona was fantastic.
Barcelona is the Cosmopolitan Capital of Spain’s Catalonia region & is known for its fine art & superb architecture, with some super-duper landmarks by Antoni Gaudi dotted around the city.
Las Ramblas is the place to be. Crowded with hordes of tourists & locals around the clock. A city that never sleeps. The main street is La Rambla. A tree lined pedestrian mall, that stretches for 1.2km, connecting Placa de Catalunya in the centre & some fantastic sights that surround the city.
La Rambla,
I had a great time on La Rambla visiting the many cafe’s, bars, restaurants, shops & some great street entertainment.
I even joined in at one point. This is me here,
I stood there, very still, all day. π cool huh…? Made a small fortune!
After that it was on to Placa de Catalunya,
The colourful waterfalls at night were a treat,
Even through the day, they were a sight for sore eyes,
After there, it was on to El Gotic. The Gothic Quarter. With some fantastic architecture to behold,
Then it was on to the Port area of Barcelona,
& After there it was time to check out some of the magnificent architecture this great city has on offer,
With the city’s narrow streets & that boxed in feeling. Its a crying shame my mobile’s camera didn’t have a zoom out because the pics would have been much better.
Anyway, Barcelona was amazing & I spent the rest of my days & nights in this little square with more bars, restaurants & entertaiment,
Accommodation in Barcelona’s, La Rambla, can get quite expensive so its always good to visit a few before booking & head down the many side streets,
Because you will find hotels or hostels a lot cheaper than the main street has on offer. I walked 20 metres from 1 to the other & saved 45 euro’s on a room. Well worth it in my little black book. & who knows you might find a gem of a shop like this,
Or a great coffee shop, offering that little bit extra kick needed, like I did. π
Barcelona was well worth it & I will be visiting again next year because its one of the best city’s in the world & I love the place. But for now it was time to pack up & get out of dodge before I ended up like this guy,
Don’t worry, I gave him a 5 euro tip in his little plastic cup for the pic.
So on that note,
Me & Barcelona, once again, were the very best of friends! But after 6 days in this vibrant city it was time for me to depart as I seriously craved a beach resort with some watersport activities. So it was on to Barcelona Sants,
Join me next time when I decide to head down the coast & step off the train in Tarragona. Looking for watersports & beach life that rivals the might of Murcia.
Thanks for reading &……..
Take it easy Travellers. Viva Espana π
Wow, it’s incredible if you really think about it. Those buildings were designed by a human(s). They look like something that only can be made in a movie!
